Emo tattoos
The emo look is inspired from a neo-gothic stle, with lot of emphasis on spiky jagged edges and dark tones. The name is an abbreviation for emotional, which means that the entire look can be personalized as per the users wish. Some basic rules refer to the jagged haircuts and the stylized clothes. Emo tattoos are generally put to express a personal message. This again furthers the concept of personalization. The text varies as per what the individual wants to say. Text and images are used, either in black ink or in colors. Yellows, blues and pinks are some of the more popular tones that are used.

The artwork and text is often created independently using a variety of graphics and fonts. The entire image often has a hidden message that the user is aware of and often represents their ideals and philosophies. The tattoos are often done over the heart, on wrist, biceps and other visible areas of the body. But, as with all things emo, this is not a hard and fast rule and can be adapted by each individual.
